About Us

The company was founded in the spring of 1993 by Betty Berger.  She was the office manager for a large cardiology group for many years and wanted to make some extra money to help send her children to college.  Her nursing and administrative background was a great asset at the time because she knew many providers.  Her idea was to work from home in the evenings and weekends billing for just one provider.  However, that one provider started telling other physicians what a great job she was doing, and she was approached to do billing for additional practices. At one time she had employed a full time person to work out of her home, while she continued her job as office manager.

With growth we moved to a commercial office in Allen, TX (a suburb of the DFW Metroplex).  Her many years of managing a large practice proved invaluable as a billing company.  SouthWest Billing Services expert staff prepares and processes claims with industry leading first pass acceptance and dedicated follow-up on all submittals.  This efficiency and SouthWest Billing Services utilization of electronic claim submittal through a nationwide clearing house, results in maximized client revenue collected as well as improved cash flow.
